EOC Position Duties Training

Join a Naturalist for an afternoon walk at Detweiler Park. Search for mushrooms and fungus while hiking the trails. Learn a few fun facts about the specimens discovered and how these organisms are vital to the survival of our forests.

Led by Angela Hartley, Master Gardener of Dauphin County, the program is part of the Gardening with Insects series and features locally relevant imagery of insects photographed in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Join Penn State Master Gardeners with a leisurely stroll to learn about the trees and plants at The Harrisburg Cemetery Arboretum.

Join us after hours for a tour of the historic Fort Hunter Mansion as we explore taboo topics from mourning etiquette to hair jewelry. This is not intended to be a scary or haunted tour of the Mansion, but rather an opportunity to dig up the history of customs and practices that have since been laid to rest. This session, led by Rachel Andreoli of Andreoli Strategies LLC, focuses on how small, intentional actions can meaningfully strengthen the communities around us. It explores practical, real-world ways to build trust, foster connection, and create a stronger sense of belonging in both personal and professional spaces, showing that even simple interactions can add to lasting community impact.

Autumn colors are all around us! Learn about these vibrant leaves and why they change color. Perform a science experience and hike around the Park to see the variety of tree species that call Wildwood home.

Every Tuesday (weather permitting), enjoy a moderately-paced walk around Wildwood Lake while enjoying the trees and animals at the park.
