Dauphin County’s Victim/Witness Assistance Program to hail 40 years of service with benefit concert Sept. 5
HARRISBURG (July 29, 2024) Dauphin County’s Victim/ Witness Assistance Program will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a benefit concert in Lower Paxton Twp.’s Brightbill Park on Thursday, Sept. 5.
The “Operation: Rhythm & Rescue Concert” will feature local bands “Only Child” and “Hot and Dangerous,” a Central PA Music Award nominee.
The Victim/Witness Assistance Program assists crime victims, witnesses and significant others in reconstructing their lives through advocacy, support, information and referrals. Services are offered at no cost to those victimized in our community.
Proceeds from the benefit concert will support victims and survivors of domestic violence in Dauphin County by funding access to urgent needs for emergency shelter, changing of locks, transportation and other financial assistance.
WHAT: Benefit Concert, along with Food, Guest Speakers and Awards
WHEN: 5 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2024
WHERE: Brightbill Park, Heroes Grove Amphitheater, 5010 Commons Drive, Lower Paxton Township
WHO: Bands “Only Child” and “Hot and Dangerous” along with guest speaker-survivors
Other planned activities include:
- Concessions | Food/Beverages for sale on-site
- Survivor Speakers | Clients of Victim/Witness will share their story of empowerment and strength
- Recognition Awards | Awards will be provided to partners of Victim/Witness throughout the program’s years of service
