8 Participants to Graduate at Dauphin County Drug Court Ceremony on March 15

Mar 14, 2022

Dauphin County Drug Court will hold its 28th graduation ceremony on Tuesday, March 15 to honor eight (8) participants for successfully completing the intense rehabilitation program.

The Drug Court program is designed to offer individuals who have contact with the criminal justice system and have drug and/or alcohol use disorders the opportunity for treatment, combined with intensive community supervision, in lieu of incarceration. This process assists individuals in returning to a healthy, law-abiding lifestyle.

In addition to the eight (8) graduates being honored in tomorrow’s ceremony, the Drug Court Team will also be posthumously graduating a participant who was demonstrating positive progress in the program, but unexpectedly passed away in January 2022.

The ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM in Courtroom 1, fifth floor of the Dauphin County Courthouse, 101 Market Street Harrisburg, PA 17101.

Kristin Varner, Director of Dauphin County Drug and Alcohol Services, will deliver the Keynote Speech. Judge Edward M. Marsico, Jr., Presiding Judge of the Drug Court Program, will open and close the ceremony.

The ceremony may also be viewed virtually via Windstream at the below highlighted link/information.

Each graduate will deliver a speech about their experience in Drug Court. Judge Edward M. Marsico, Jr.  will also be addressing the graduates.

Since the program began in 2008, the program has graduated a total of 115 participants, not including the 9 individuals who will be graduating on the 15th.
