Walk with a Doc – Park Rx
Thursday, July 10 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Penbrook Park Free
Walk Leader: Dr. Matthew Helm - Penn State Health Dermatology
Program Topic: Skin Cancer Prevention
Join us for a 2.5-mile walk meeting up at Penbrook Community Park and walking on the Greenbelt's Paxtang Parkway. The Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk. It will be an out-and-back walk so participants can turn back at any time to customize the length of their walk based on their own individual fitness needs. The walk will be flat, but there are some slightly elevated areas. The full walk is estimated to take 1-hour based on the pace of the walkers. We encourage you to come out and join the walk for as long or as little as you are able. All ages are welcome to attend, but we do ask that children be accompanied by a responsible adult. Meet up Location: The Penbrook Community Park at 31st Street and Boas Street in Penbrook, at the park pavilion. Parking is available by the pavilion.
This is a FREE walk, but we ask that you pre-register. This walk is appropriate for all ages and children are welcome to attend but should be accompanied by a responsible adult. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash. A Park Rx wellness program sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield and supported by Penn State Health with program coordination between Penbrook Parks & Recreation, Susquehanna Township Parks and Recreation, Capital Area Greenbelt Association and Dauphin County Parks & Recreation.
