2026 Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)

The Dauphin County Commissioners, in partnership with the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, are once again offering $25.00 in vouchers to eligible seniors to be used at local farmers markets to buy fresh fruit and vegetables grown in Pennsylvania.


 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Dauphin County Resident.
  • Must be 60+ years of age by December 31st, 2026 of the qualifying year.
  • Annual Household Income Limits:
    • Single person – at or below $29,526
    • Two-person household – at or below $40,034.

APPLICATION INFORMATION:

  • Applications are now being accepted through September 15, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Applications may be submitted to Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging in the following ways:
    • Mail
    • Email
    • Mobile phone submission
    • In Person at Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging office.

VOUCHER INFORMATION:

  • ALL SFMNP vouchers will be mailed to participants. The SFMNP vouchers will NOT be distributed in person at the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging office, senior centers, or any mass distribution sites.
  • Vouchers can be redeemed from June 1, 2026 - November 30, 2026.
  • Vouchers can only be used at participating local farmers markets for the following:
  • Fruit: Apples Berries, Grapes, Melons, Pears, Apricots, Cherries, Nectarines, Plums, Peaches
  • Vegetables : Artichokes, Cauliflower, Leeks, Parsnips, Tomatoes, Asparagus, Celery, Lettuce, Onions, Turnips, Beans (fresh), Corn, Mushrooms, Radishes, Winter Squash, Beets, Cucumbers, Peppers, Rhubarb, Yams (grown in PA), Broccoli, Eggplant, Potatoes, Rutabagas, Zucchini, Brussels, sprouts, Greens, Peas, Spinach, Microgreens, Cabbage, Kohlrabi, Okra, Sweet Potatoes, Fresh Garlic
  • Fresh cut herbs are allowed if they are used for cooking or flavoring.
  • Vouchers CAN NOT be used for the following:
    • Actual plants
    • Jack-o-lanterns
    • Citrus or tropical fruits
    • Processed food, such as jams, honey, nuts, cider, or baked goods.
    • At grocery stores or supermarkets.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • All qualifying household members may receive vouchers if their total combined income is within income requirements.
  • The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is not eligible to older adults who are living in nursing home facilities, convents, and residential facilities where meals are provided.
  • This program is a one-time benefit during the program year.
