    Kids Discover: Bald Eagles (ages 5-10)

    Bald Eagles are beautiful, powerful birds of prey! During this program we will explore the world of bald eagles, discover their “super” powers and conduct an experiment to see why eagles can soar for hours! Join a Naturalist as we honor our Nation’s 250th birthday with a closer look at our National Bird. This program is a part of the America250 Dauphin County Celebration. Registrants must be accompanied by a chaperone for the duration of the program. A maximum of one chaperone per child is permitted. Space is limited. Pre-registration required.

    Every Tuesday (weather permitting), enjoy a moderately-paced walk around Wildwood Lake while enjoying the trees and animals at the park.

    Sprouts ages 4 and 5 will discover nature through hands-on activities. Spend the day exploring the outdoors through discovery and sensory walks, stories, crafts and much more. REGISTRATION OPENS ON JANUARY 5, 2026

    Join us for a moderately paced walk around Wildwood Park in Harrisburg. The walk will be led by a local healthcare provider and will focus on men’s health and prostrate health.

    Celebrate America’s 250th birthday by meeting a tree that is older than our Country. Join a Naturalist along the East Shore Trail, one of Wildwood’s less-traveled trails.

    Join volunteer Jane Earle to view fragrant water lilies, yarrow, common milkweed and two species of native roses. Meet at the North Parking Lot. Learn how some flowers were named and used by early settlers and Native Americans.

    Junior Naturalist Day Camp Week 1 (Ages 9-11)

    Junior Naturalists ages 9 to 11 interested in the flora and fauna of Wildwood Park will spend the week learning about species identification and natural history. Topics explored include life beneath the water, tracks and scat, plants, insects and birds. REGISTRATION OPENS ON JANUARY 5, 2026.
