Tuesday, Nov. 1 (by 5 p.m.) is the last day to apply for a regular absentee or mail-in ballot.

The Dauphin County Commissioners are reminding voters there are four ways to return their voted ballot before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, which is Election  Day:

• Voters can visit the ballot drop box stationed outside the Dauphin County Administration Building at 2 South Second Street in Harrisburg, which is available 24-hours per day, 7-days per week and is under video surveillance.  This drop box is checked daily and will remain in place until 8 p.m. on Nov. 8, at which time it will be removed and secured for use in 2023;
• Voters can visit the ballot drop box stationed inside the Northern Dauphin Human Services Center, 295 State Drive in Elizabethville, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at which time it will be removed and secured for use in 2023;
• Voters can visit the elections office at 1251 S. 28th in Harrisburg, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, at which time the doors will be closed and locked
• Voters can mail their ballots back to the County Election Office using the envelopes provided with the absentee and/or mail-in ballot they received.

On Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 8), polling places for in-person voting are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Voters who applied for an absentee or mail-in ballot will be required to surrender their ballot and ballot return envelope to the Judge of Election if the voter decided to do in-person voting on election day.  If the voter does not bring their ballot and ballot return envelope with them, they will be required to vote a provisional ballot.  Voters who have returned their absentee or mail-in ballot are not eligible to vote in person on election day.

Voters who have not yet applied for a mail-in/absentee ballot may process an over-the-counter ballot at the Dauphin County Registration and Elections office at 1251 S 28th St., Harrisburg, until 5 p.m., Nov. 1.

According to Pennsylvania election law, voters may only return their own ballot. You may not return someone else’s voted ballot, even if it is for a spouse or family member.  Anyone attempting to return someone else’s ballot will be turned away.
