Dauphin County Emergency Rental Assistance Program Set to Launch New Online Application Platform

Jan 28, 2022

The application window remains open for applicants to the Dauphin County Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program.

Dauphin County is transitioning to a new online application platform that will prioritize those applicants with the highest level of risk while decreasing overall processing time.

The application process remains open. However, the online platform will be closed from Feb. 1 to Feb. 6 as we transition to the new system – which will launch on Feb. 7.

Those who have applied for ERAP assistance do not need to re-apply under the new online system.

“This new online interface will enhance the applicant’s experience, and, we hope, trim processing time,” Dauphin County Commissioner George P. Hartwick, III said.

The new system will allow applicants (and landlords) to access their application for status and what additional documents are needed, if any. Document upload also will be easier.

Additionally, automated case notifications will be available to applicants.

As of Jan. 21, 5,100 applicants submitted 5,730 applications to Dauphin County ERAP. The total amount disbursed is $14,654,735.28 (total federal and state combined) on 2,286 applications.

The Dauphin County Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program is first come-first served. Keep in mind: the number of pending and future applicants to receive funding is dependent upon state and federal ERAP funds available to Dauphin County.
