The Dauphin County Tax Assessment office is responsible for mailing the county real estate tax bills on February 1st of each year.

Yes.  The bill can be paid during the 2% discount, flat, 5% penalty, or 10% penalty periods.  The deadlines for each period are as follows:
Discount:   March 31st
Flat:  May 31st
5% Penalty: July 31st
10% Penalty:  December 31st 

Taxes not paid by December 31st are turned over as delinquent to the Dauphin County Tax Claim Bureau and all payments for delinquent taxes must be made through the Tax Claim Bureau after December 31.

The amount of delinquent real estate taxes owed can be obtained from the Dauphin County Tax Claim Bureau.  They can be reached directly at (717) 780-6125.

No.  You may not make installment payments towards County Real Estate taxes.  The Treasurer’s office is unable to accept anything less than the total amount due on the bill. (Please note: school real estate taxes may be paid in installments, in accordance with the law.)

Yes.  Payments can be made at www.dauphincounty.org/payments or by calling 
1-877-690-3729. The jurisdiction code is 7517. Additional processing fees charged by the vendor are applicable.

Yes. Tax certifications may be obtained online here. There is an additional fee for online tax certifications.

All licenses become available on December 1 for the subsequent year.  Annual licenses are valid from January 1 through December 31.  Licenses are issued on a calendar year basis and are not valid after December 31 of the year for which they were issued.

Licensing your dog is a state law punishable by up to a $300 fine.  Proceeds from the sales are used to fund the PA Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement Office.  The  Dog Law Enforcement Office is responsible for enforcing kennel licensing and inspection, investigating dog bites, enforcing the rabies law, helping to fund humane societies, seizing and detaining dogs which are at-large, and reimbursing individuals for dog-caused damage to livestock, poultry and game-birds.

All dogs that are age 3 months or older are required by Pennsylvania law to be licensed through the County Treasurer.

Licenses are available through the Dauphin County Treasurer’s office or one of the authorized agents located throughout the county.  For agent information, please contact the Treasurer’s office.  Licenses are also available online at www.padoglicense.com 

In order to purchase a lifetime license, the dog must be micro-chipped or tattooed.   A veterinarian must verify the microchip or tattoo and complete the Permanent Identification Verification (PIV) form in its entirety, which is required by the state. The applicant must also submit a Lifetime License Application along with the Permanent Identification Verification form.  

Yes.  A microchip does not take the place of the state-mandated license.

Yes.  Acceptable forms of proof of disability include a copy of a Medicare card, a handicapped license plate, a handicap placard, or a letter from the Social Security Administration indicating disability.  Senior Licenses are available to those customers who are 65 at the time of purchase.  Senior applicants must provide a copy of a driver’s license showing the applicant’s birth date.

Yes. The cost to replace them is $6.97 for each license and/or tag being replaced.

You must apply in person, be 18 years of age or older, and provide a current hunting or fishing license and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license or identification card.

You can be awarded one tag per round for the limited WMUs. An unlimited number of antlerless tags can be issued for WMUs 2B, 5C, & 5D. To be eligible for a senior license, you must be age 65 or older or turn age 65 during the current license year.
